Inter-disciplinary Systems Engineering Review: Overall consistency of process flowsheets (PFD, P&ID), cause-and-effect matrices (C&E Matrix), piping flexibility calculations and state-of-the-art equipment specifications.

🚢 FPSO Decarbonization Modification Projects

The Challenge: Recover flare gases from the FPSP vessel to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Closure of the flare changed all of the vessel’s process parameters, requiring a complete reassessment of existing equipment, piping and safety valves.

Coordination: As engineering manager of the project, I managed the detailed engineering by synchronizing the Process, Piping, Structure and Industrial Safety teams. I also participated directly in equipment design studies and risk reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL).

The Results: Delivery of a complete and secure technical file, allowing the successful integration of the new gas recovery loops while guaranteeing the compliance and profitability of the asset.

⚡ Turnaround of an Energy Transition Project in Crisis (Biomass)

The Challenge: An industrial biomass gasification project for electricity production was critically delayed by 2 years, partially due to a lack of technical consistency between the different equipment subcontractors (furnace, boiler, flue gas treatment, turbine).

Coordination: Intervention as an expert consultant to audit the entire project. Realignment of overall functional analyses, verification of consistency of engineering documents (e.g. isometrics vs P&ID), and synchronization of automation and process teams to start control system programming.

The Result: Getting the project back on operational track to finalize construction, drafting unified operation manuals (O&M) and structuring a start-up and performance testing plan.
